Left the house around 20 after 8.
Just got back.

The polling place is less than a five minute walk from here.

Yeah, it took a full two hours.

Almost didn't get to vote, since I don't have a Minnesota id. I thought that any state id plus a utility bill would work...but APPARENTLY NOT. D:< Pepper had to vouch for me.

God help the people who have to do it tonight after work.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to be American the rest of the time.

You'd have had to dealt with eight years of Bush, for example.
Eight years of Bush after he stole the election-- TWICE.

You'd have to make jokes about how, when you travel overseas, you claim to be Canadian, because you're so ashamed of your country.

You'd have to deal with the fact that some of your country's cities have as much financial disparity as some African countries. The rich get richer exponentially, and the poor get...nothing.

You'd have to see the banks become semi-nationalized and then see socialism disparaged.
You'd see Wall Street fat cats get bailed out while auto companies-- who employ millions of average Americans-- take a nose dive.
You'd see that 850 billion-- all that money stolen from you and your children, who will be paying it back for decades-- used to give CEOs end-of-year bonuses of millions of dollars!

You'd see your civic servants contemptuously comparing waiting in line to VOTE, to take place in our DEMOCRACY, to waiting in line for an iPhone or baseball tickets.

...I'm a little cynical; I'm sorry. Watching the news is bad for me.

Oh wow. How was the atmosphere over there?

Calm, quiet. Pepper and I were the loudest, most obnoxious people in line. (Hey, if we gotta be up, we might as well have fun.) The judges or whatever running the show seemed UBER-CRANKY, though. Sand in their panties!

Oh wow, I am so glad I did early voting. :/ I think I'd be too scared of the lines today to brave it. (I wouldn't have a problem normally, but me = cramping, and long lines = pain. My 45 minute work shifts are torture enough when I'm like this. D:)

It didn't seem that long, but then again I have no cramps. Also, many other people report in most laes that there was no line that early.

We had to stop at the utilities company to drop off our monthly payment and for some reason, they were using that site for a voting site, instead of the municipal court house next door. The lines were kind of intimidating already. :(
