Title: Coins to Cats
Pairing: Al/Envy
Words: ~400
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: None.
Warnings: human!Al, tame!Envy, completely AU/TWT, implied sex
Other notes: Because I wanted to, dammit.
"I don't... You're not the same. You're...different. I... I don't understand you."
The muttered confession was surly and edged with grating irritation, but Al still smiled, his soft, sensual lips curving as slowly as the lazy fall of a leaf in autumn and with all the sweetness of heavy comb honey. Thick tawny lashes swept down, and he gave a coy, curious sidelong glance at the other. He wasn't insulted; the irritation belied an underlying anxiety so profound it was almost fear, and he found that faintly amusing. He wiggled closer and felt the cool skin shiver at the contact, but his arms were wound about the narrow waist firmly, thumbs rubbing back and forth over other's shoulders in an idle pair of caresses.
"Is that really a problem?" No, of course it probably wasn't, but he had to keep in mind who he was talking to.
Envy could make anything problematic.
The Sin made some annoyed little noise, and Al raised a single brow, wondering if he was going to have another fight on his hands...but then slender fingers sheathed themselves the curtain of dark blond, running through it in possessive gestures, and he smiled again.
"Yes!" Envy hissed unhappily, and Al reflected that the homunculus really was an emotional wreck-- completely unable to face his own feelings without flinching, almost incapable of admitting to them without becoming enraged at his own perceived weakness, and prone to blaming Al for the fact that he felt them at all...although, the blond supposed, that last wasn't entirely untrue or unfair.
"Why?"
"Because--"
Oh, there was that tone, and something in Al twitched at the sound of it. Envy's eyes were narrowed, his teeth bared as he seethed, and the alchemist pressed a finger down across his lips to cut him off. It wasn't like he'd been about to speak the truth anyway.
"Because you want to," he finished for him instead. "Because you want..."
Al trailed off as the tip of his finger disappeared into Envy's wet mouth with a silky chuckle, his tongue lapping over the fleshy pad and then tickling at the sensitive crease of his knuckle. Silence stumbled awkwardly between them for the span of a few steady heartbeats while the blond half-heartedly considered pulling away, stopping Envy's play...but then long legs unfolded and wrapped around his hips, drawing him in, and oh! he was still slick and warm from the last time, and Al lost the game before it had even really begun.
