It's probably a genjutsu, which disappoints me. Sasuke's been relying so much on his Sharingan-- his eyes, his heritage, his past-- that I WANT him to lose them.

I want him to be pulled down from that 'genius' pedestal; I want some...revenge, so to speak...for the arrogance he displayed when he fought Orochimaru, saying that before the greatness of an Uchiha, even one of the Sannin was nothing.

Like I want Naruto to become a strong ninja who doesn't need the kyuubi, I want to see Sasuke become something more than his Sharingan.

I want Sasuke to prove himself in a totally new and interesting way.



As for Jiraiya...

In a way, I wish we'd get back to that thread. It hasn't really hit me yet, and it won't... not until Tsunade finds out. Or Naruto. And then I'll freaking BAWL.

I agree. I really want him to lose the eye also, but at the same time, I want Itachi to be proven wrong with the whole Mangekyou thing; because we all know how that went down. lolsasunarufight. And it'd also be interesting if he found out that he was incorrect (Itachi). I don't think he could be, but I'm really interested in the backstory with Itachi and Shisui, truth be told.

Sasuke needs to prove himself too, because that will make me like his character a whole lot more. It gets boring after awhile, you know what I mean? I want to go, "HOLY SHIT SASUKE, THAT WAS AWESOME."


Same thing with me for Jiraiya too. Complete and utter denial. I suck for this, but the anime always upsets me more. Maybe it's just hearing them, but.... God, I don't even want to know how much I'm going to cry. My keyboard will probably fuck up.

As someone else pointed out, Itachi is wrong. He talks about the Uchiha clan's history of killing their friends for the Mangekyou and their brothers for it permanently, but he's ALSO the one that said only three people ever gained the Mangekyou. Something doesn't mesh there.

I felt nothing in particular for his crazy-face. I don't know why. It didn't really interest me one way or the other.

...but I'm the same way. Things get to me more in anime then in manga, so I might change my mind if/when it ever gets animated.

Wait, how would he be wrong then? If it was just the methos of killing your best friend, it would still be possible, wouldn't it? The permanence just happened when Madara killed his brother. That would still mean there were three people with the Mangekyou; it just means that Madara's younger brother died. Or did Itachi specifically say that three people who had it were still alive?

I.... was kind of tripped out. But the icon's have made me crack up, I have to admit. The first thought that popped into my head when I saw it was, ".... Ah. I knew it."

I personally am hoping this fight ends in a chapter or two, is that horrible of me? >__> I just.... well, there are other things in the plot that I'm more concerened with at the moment, you know? And I have to admit; if the fight keeps draging on after this (like, Kishimoto cuts it off again or something), I'd be pissed.

How can the clan history be founded on all that killing when only three people ever did it?

That's the question.

If only three people even managed to achieve the Mangekyou, then it's possible that only ONE of those managed to make it permanent-- Madara.


And that's NOT what I'd call a definitive trait of the entire clan.

Ok, I see what you mean. Forgive me, I'm really out of it tonight. >__>

But then again, we know that all the major clans in Konoha are probably screwed up internally anyway. Just from looking at the Hyuugas and Uchihas. So.... really, do we even know the majority of the secrets of the clans? We probably never will, but I'd like to figure it all out. It'd probably be fun/interesting.

That's true. I'd love to hear more about the relationship between the Uchihas and the Hyuuga, the Uchihas and the first two Hokages, and a lot of other bits we'll never get.

I have such a love/hate relationship with fandom.

It's really fun to read about theories like that, when they're made realistic. Problem is finding good fic where people actually write about those things. A lot of people are really disinterested in it, which I find a shame. It's not like EVERYTHING is simply about a specific character. .... Or something. If I'm not making sense, I apologize.

More correctly, all everyone cares about is who's fucking who, or who's not fucking who. But that doesn't mean that fanfic can't be smart or develop stuff hinted in canon or whatever. I think that's why I don't read a lot of fic anymore; most of it just seems too dumb. And I HATE AUs.

Same here. It sort of bothers me, because I used to LOVE reading fic when I was younger. I think a lot of that might've been the fact that I was just getting into anime and didn't know enough to care, but.... blah. The things I would do for a good GEN fic once in a while. I really like character introspective, but everything has to be a pairing, like you said.

I also have such diverse tastes with pairings. You share my liking for the Sannin pairings, but I can't find them. There's only so much SasuNaru and LeeGaa I can take before my head explodes.

And then the people who have the nerve to tell you you absolutely CAN'T like so and so pairing. Especially when they're raving about like.... GaaHina. Or something along those. I don't care what you like, don't insult my pairings because you dislike it, because I wouldn't do it to you.

I like a lot of the sidestuff, which is difficult to find...but at least tends to be well-written when I do find it. Sannin stuff, Akatsuki stuff that's NOT ItaKisa or SasoDei or DeiTobi, etc.

But at the same time, there's some CRACKED out pairings out there that I don't get.

My friend makes a joke all the time, because I say if there's a Naruto pairing out there, I'd read it, and that I basically support everyone x everyone (which isn't true, obviously, but if something is well-written, I'm likely to try reading it.) So she always yells. GEKKOZABUZA. XD It's.... sort of funny. In a cracked out way.

But yeah, I agree. Some stuff is just odd. O_o
