NOT KIDDING. PUT 'EM DOWN. CELL PHONES ARE THE FUCKING ANTICHRIST.

God, I hate those bastardly things! Everyone's on them all the fucking time! Does anyone pay attention to the people they're actually with anymore? Or to their surroundings?

NO! 'CAUSE THEY'RE ALL ON THEIR FUCKING CELL PHONES!

I don't think I'm asking for too much here:
- Don't talk on your cell phone on a bus or train where everyone has to listen to you.
- Don't talk on your cell phone when you are in a place of business whilst simultaneously trying to receive service from said business. (One conversation at a time, jackass.)
- Don't talk on your cell phone and drive. YES, it DOES affect your driving. Maybe you don't think so, but everyone else on the road does.
- Don't call a friend to chat when you are out with other friends. Spend time with the people who are making time for you!

I have one myself, and I STILL hate them. I understand people needing immediate information-- where are we meeting? is this the right brand/flavor/whatever? did you need anything while I was out? etc.
But I DESPISE personal calls in public. THE WORLD IS NOT YOUR PHONE BOOTH, GODDAMMIT.

And you know what's even worse? Those goddamn SPEAKER PHONES. Holy shit, I was sitting on the bus on my way home, reading a book for class, then suddenly this girl behind me literally shouts:

"Oh my God, shut up!"

I jumped, thinking she was starting a fight or something with someone, turned around, and saw her grinning and shouting into a cell phone.

...so now, you have to hold it a few inches from your face and scream into it instead of just holding it against your ear? DIE IN A FIRE.

No shit. I figure that if I can hear someone's entire conversation over the loud music coming through my headphones (which I always have on when I'm on the bus/train), then you are TOO LOUD. At that point I have the right to tell you to shut up.

Gah. Gah! I haaaaaaaaaaaate when people do this. We even have a no cell phones policy and they do it anyway! I love my boss though. She was signing up some little thug for a computer and he had a phone held up to his ear the whole time and suddenly she snapped--"Is that thing glued to your face, or what?" Crazy old lady librarian.
