In my typical way, I've turned myself completely around in 12 hours or so.

Does anyone reading this have experience composing resumes?
Can anyone help me? Give me some tips and pointers?
I'm willing to pay for reasonable assistance. I'm not trying to get something for nothing; anyone who's willing to give me a friendly hand will be compensated (in cash, books, gift cards, fic, whatever).

Does anyone anyone want to assist me in composing cover letters and inquiries?
I fucking HATE writing intro and cover letters.
Again, same deal.

I just need some guidance and encouragement. A new set of eyes. Someone who holds me acocuntable. A mentor, in a way. I'm willing to pay for it.
But I know that I'm a slacker. I need someone to help get me rolling.

I can help -- and I can, frankly, use a bit of cash, as I have a consultation with a $165/hr lawyer on Tuesday, and I haven't yet explained to him my financial disaster. Drop me a line? gmcvay@ patriot .net

I took a class on career development last semester. If you want the workbook, I can give it to you for free. It has all kinds of advice about that sort of thing. I'd also be willing to help you out if you need it.

If I hadn't pitched it, I would be packaging and mailing right this instant my resume-making notes from class. But, uh, I pitched them. I can give you the basics on resume-making/cover letters/inquiries, though, if you're willing to sit on the phone with me for a period of time tomorrow. I'm rather good at it. (I'd say today, but I've got work, then roomie pizza party, then LARP.) But I will most certainly help you -- I'll ask my roommates if they have any notorized hints/tips for resume-building, as well. So far as I know, it's relatively simple. I'll see if I can't find my professional resume, too. (It's printed somewhere -- I'd just either fax/scan/re-type it for you.) But give me a call -- 507-213-4228. If I don't answer, just tell me a time you'd be available for me to call you tomorrow.

Also, uh, in case this wasn't actually apparent -- I have experience in resumes/all of the above. I helped my friend's mom get a job she doesn't have a degree for last month, actually. *laughs* But, uhm, I'm good at cover letters (I actually enjoy talking out my ass a lot of the time, and I'm freakin' good at it), and I've done so many resumes in my day that it's second-nature to do them well. Also, one of my roommates, who's in her last semester, just told me that she has craploads of resume-building stuff I can copy for you. And you don't have to pay me in anything -- you'd help out if I needed it. Karma and all that.
