My God, Tom had literally just crossed it when it collapsed. He said he heard the rumble of it falling and when he looked behind him the bridge was gone.

I'm kind of baffled as to what my week's now going to be like.


...although the woman on the radio saying repeatedly, "A bridge in America...just shouldn't fall down" is making me laugh a lot. Probably more than I should.

TRULY wtf. I feel sorry for your friend Tom - I never want to have to witness something like that. I`d never feel save on a bridge ever again.

But... didn`t something like that happen to a bridge this size last year too? I think it had something to do with the wind...

Tom's dippy enough that he wasn't really scarred by the incident. He's aware of how lucky he was, but the really fear didn't sink in to him...which is good.

You know how the news reporters were doing unedited newscasting from the scene yesterday and totally videotaped that dead body being fished from the river ... with a body bag over it, of course. The news guy was all blah blah blah omg I work with that guy!

Actually Tom's calmed down A LOT during his time in Boston. No more squealing, "purple penis!"ing, groping, etc. Totally chilled out. He even spent most of Tuesday with me and Randy-- YES, I INTRODUCED RANDY TO TOM AND IT WAS OK. THAT'S HOW CALM HE IS NOW.

And besides, Tom's exact words were, "I crossed the bridge and then heard some rumbling. And then I looked behind me, and the bridge was gone, but I didn't think anything of it until I got home and saw the news."

...Tom is still kinda spiffle. :D
