Cleaned up my container garden-- my hyacinths are actually trying to sprout! how cute! I moved them to where they might get a bit more sunlight-- AND finished filing my taxes. How's that for accomplishment.
I really hope I didn't bork my taxes. That refund's pretty thick and juicy, and I am MUCH with the wanting.

Do you get crotchety and gnash your false teeth at all those memes that ask, “Have you ever kissed someone?” “Do you have a fake ID?”

Do you want to swing your zimmer frame when you have to try to make a sensible response to, “Do the other girls ping your bra strap in PE class”? This meme is for you. Feel free to answer if you’re under 30 but past spin-the-bottle, obviously.

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
Student loans, natch! Considering that I never actually intend to pay them. Other than the impossible demands from the Dept. of Ed., I only have rent and electric, and I don't begrudge those.

2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
...?
I'm not sure what "romantic dinner" means. Or why this is even a question, actually.
I can't even remember the last time I ate out someplace that wasn't a fast food joint, and even remembering the fast food's a stretch.

3. What do you really want to be doing right now?
Watching dystopian movies: Brazil, Clockwork Orange, Soylent Green, Dr. Strangelove...
Or getting high and reading about diseases while basking in the sunshine in my room.
(Or, you know, ACTUALLY ACHIEVING SOMETHING. ANYTHING.)

4. How many colleges did you attend?
Just one.
And then seminary.

5. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
It was on top in the drawer. Also, comfortable.

6. What are your thoughts on gas prices?
Not high enough. The higher gas prices get, the more we're able to talk about solutions like electric cars and plug-in stations, high-speed rail, light rail, subway systems, more buses, and a generally improved public transit network. The higher gas prices get, the less people drive and so there are less driving accidents and fatalities. The higher gas prices get, the more like there is to be an overdue overhaul of our transportation system...and I can't wait for that shit to get started.

7. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
...I woke up at noon because my room was bright. Alarm? Pfffffft.

8. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
It's like, 2 am. I should...no, not smoke more. Okay, maybe a little more... :D :D :D
...holy shit, I should go to bed before I can't even manage to crawl into it...

9. Do you miss being a child?
Yes. The freedom, the lack of expectation, the playtime, the hope for the future, the security in what my days were going to be like... All of that. I didn't need money and school was so easy that I barely did homework. I played outside a lot, rode my bike, climbed trees, hiked in the woods, tracked animals. You know, stuff that was fun and good for me at the same time. Now everything seems fraught with angst and despair.

10. What errand/chore do you despise?
Working.

11. Get up early or sleep in?
See above answer regarding my alarm clock.

12. Have you found real love yet?
...?
Again, what does "real love" mean?
On one hand, I think the answer I'm expected to give is "no", considering that I'm single and have never been married and don't plan on having kids.
On the other hand, that completely disregards all the people I have loved-- genuinely, deeply, from the bottom of my heart-- just because those instances are non-romantic love or were temporary (but still real).

13. Favorite lunch meat:
Honey roasted turkey.

14. What do you get every time you go to the supermarket?
Every time? Uh, nothing.
I guess the closest to "every time" would be milk, bread, or eggs.

15. Beach or lake?
A beach on Lake Superior. Hah! Fuck you and your choices! I want warm golden sand, waves, AND fresh water.

16. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Yes. I personally don't understand the significance of it, other than for taxes and things like that.

17. Sopranos or Desperate Housewives?
No.

18. What famous person/people would you like to have dinner with?
FDR, Einstein, Jimmy Carter, Jesus, Marcus Borg. Uh. I'm sure there are others.

19. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
I don't own a vehicle.

20. Ever use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
By "intended purpose", do you mean ramming its butt end into peoples' heads?
...no, haven't done that yet.

21. Ring tone?
I leave my phone on vibrate because the damned menu is too complicated to switch the volume on and off constantly like I need to be able to do. Yes, this is one of the many reasons I rarely answer my phone.

22. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
...? Standing outside in the New Brunswick wilderness over a waterpipe flowing with pure, icy-cold spring water?

23. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
Anywhere where there's more wildlife than people.

24. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
I'd just settle for having a career as opposed to a job. Which I hate. HATE, HATE, HATE.

25. How old are you?
29. (You'd think I'd know better, living like a kid...) Everyone says I don't act my age, though.

26. Do you have a go-to person?
Jinya, at the moment. (In the past it was Wendy, and before that, Daysha.) Tom, too, but I usually hit Jinya first 'cause I live with her. She's a life-saver. ♥

27. Are you where you want to be in life?
NO.

28. Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons?
Rescue Rangers, Dog City, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, TaleSpin, Duck Tales.

29. What about you do you think has changed the most?
My anger (increased), my patience (increased), my despair (increased), my changing levels of hope (decreased) and self-confidence (fluctuating).

30. Looking back at high school were they the best years of your life?
Um, no. Middle school was fucking awful, but high school proper wasn't that bad. Still, I wouldn't call it "best years" of anything. The best time of my life was college-- and even that was a bit of a train wreck.

31. Are there times you still feel like a kid?
"Are there times...?"
Uh yeah.
I feel like a kid ALL OF THE TIME. I tell people that I only learned one way to live and that was in college, so I still act/live like I'm in college even now. I'm frighteningly juvenile sometimes, tempted by expensive anime trinkets, immediate sexual gratification, and increasingly prone to temper tantrums of pure frustrated rage at the unfairness of reality.

32. Did you ever own troll dolls?
No, they're fug.

33. Did you have a pager?
No, what the fuck would I need one for?

34. Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager?
1) I lived in the middle of no where.
2) I lived even further out in no where than everyone else, and I didn't have a car.
= I have no fucking clue if there even was a local hangout.

35. Were you the type of kid you would want your children to hang out with?
I was a shy, quiet, bookish, fat, frizzy-haired, bottle-glasses-wearing wish-I-didn't-exist for 9 months of the year. Not a bad influence, though.
